Robert (Bob) E. Leroux, 74, of Lexington Avenue, died suddenly and unexpectedly at home Thursday October 27, 2011. For over 52 years, he was the husband of Anne Marie (Wagner) Leroux. Bob will be dearly missed. |
Bob was born in Norton, a son of Arthur W. and Andrienne (Dumont) Leroux, and graduated from Coyle High School. Before retiring, Bob was a Test Engineer with the Northrop Corporation in Norwood, MA for over 35 years, during which he received a Presidential citation for significant achievements on NASA's Space Shuttle Program. Bob was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He graduated from Wentworth Institute in 1963 with an Associates degree and later graduated from Northeastern University with a Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering. Upon marriage, Bob lived in Attleboro for 52 years. |
| Bob's pride and joy was his family. It meant the world to him. He worked countless hours and sacrificed to provide for his family, yet he managed still to attend school and sporting events. Bob's family was his life. |
| After retirement, Bob remained very active and spent much time devoting energy, attention and support to his childrens' home projects, from East to West coasts. Bob was a “Jack of all Trades". His talent, energy and dedication were unlimited. |
| Bob's generosity extended beyond family to many with time, opportunity and charity. Bob's support cannot be measured or overstated. | Bob was also very active in the American French Genealogy Society (Woonsocket, RI) helping many people understand and cherish their family's heritage. |
| Besides his wife, he is survived by 5 sons Robert W.A. Leroux of Barre, MA [his wife Andrea (Nadeau) and their children Max and Maddie], Stephen Leroux of Attleboro, MA (his sons Tyler and Ryan), Thomas Leroux of Omaha, NE [his wife Jahna (Wagner) and their children Evan, Ethan, Alexa, and Amanda], William Leroux of Wrentham, MA [his wife Susan (Carvalho) and their children William and Julia], David Leroux of Long Beach, CA [his wife Julie (Hewins) and their sons Jake and Ryan], and 2 daughters Luanne Cheney of Attleboro, MA (her children Heather, Sarah, Lauren, and Brandon), and Elizabeth Kelley of Sturbridge, MA (her husband Kevin and their children Mikayla, Zachary, Benjamin, and Joshua). He is also survived by a brother Leo Leroux of Taunton, MA and a sister Annette Dumont of Norton, MA and by several nieces and nephews. He wa s the brother of the late Franci s “Champ” Leroux of Norton, MA. |
