AFGS has been collecting obituaries since 1978. We currently have nearly 200 volumes with 500 pages in each volume. These obituaries are received from all over the country and are a valuable asset. Hard copies can be found in the library and they will also appear in the Members Only section. Each volume has an index. Every five volumes have a separate index. Finally, every fifty volumes has an index. Many of the obituaries have pictures as well as helpful information.

Workshop Videos:
Video recordings of lectures presented at AFGS are posted on the Members-Only site. Members wishing to view the recordings should log in and look under the education heading. Click on the video lectures and select the recording you wish to view.
Volunteers Needed:
AFGS is an all-volunteer non-profit organization. As such we look to members who have specific skills who are willing to help the society maintain its excellent standing as a premier genealogical and historical organization. Many volunteers from around the country are working from home on a variety of projects. You need not live locally or visit the society to make a difference.
