We are always looking for volunteers for a number of projects, some big, some small, to be done at AFGS or at home. We have something for everyone. Knowledge of genealogy is not required, we’d appreciate your time.
Video Camera Operators. AFGS has begun building a video library of workshop presentations recorded by society volunteers. Our goal is to upload the videos on our secure members-only site for viewing by members around the world. We are in need of volunteers who are willing to help us record the presentations. Familiarization with video cameras would be helpful, but not necessary.
Data Entry. AFGS is engaged in a number of database creation projects that require volunteers willing to do data entry. Work can be done at home at your convenience using templates and documents provided by AFGS. Accurate typing skill and knowledge of the Excel program are required.
Building and Grounds Committee. We are seeking volunteers who reside in the greater Woonsocket area to join our committee. The committee is responsible for maintaining our Franco-American Heritage Center either by performing minor repair tasks or helping to screen contractors hired to perform renovation or repair projects.
