Memorial Day Weekend: Saturday, May 13
July 4th Holiday: Tuesday, July 4
Labor Day Weekend: Saturday, September 2
Columbus Day Weekend: Saturday, October 7
Christmas/New Year Holidays Closing: Tuesday, December 19 – Reopen Tuesday, January 2, 2024

AFGS Library Hours

Tuesdays 1 pm – 9 pm

Saturdays 10 am – 4 pm (Closed Saturdays in July)

In the event of inclement weather or unanticipated emergencies, library closing announcements will be made on local radio and television stations. Unplanned library closings will also be posted on the AFGS website home page and on the Society’s Facebook page.

Workshop Videos:

Video recordings of lectures presented at AFGS are posted on the Members-Only site. Members wishing to view the recordings should log in and look under the education heading. Click on the video lectures and select the recording you wish to view.

Volunteers Needed:

AFGS is an all-volunteer non-profit organization. As such we look to members who have specific skills who are willing to help the society maintain its excellent standing as a premier genealogical and historical organization. Many volunteers from around the country are working from home on a variety of projects. You need not live locally or visit the society to make a difference.
