We are seeking volunteers to help with projects to be performed either in-person at AFGS or at home. We have something for everyone. Knowledge of genealogy is not required.
Audio/Visual Team
We are seeking individuals with experience in recording, editing and producing video programs for our members-only website. Our goal is to create a hybrid environment for presenting live workshops and events simultaneously to in-person and online audiences. In addition to a production team, we need individual(s) to locate and schedule presenters and coordinate them with the A/V team.
Receptionist
Duties include greeting and checking-in members and guests, answering the telephone, processing cash and credit card sales of books and other materials, and assisting the librarian with various projects.
Data Entry
AFGS is engaged in several database creation projects that involve data entry. Work can be done at home at your convenience using templates and documents provided by AFGS. Accurate typing skills, and a knowledge of the Excel program are required.
Building and Grounds Committee
We are seeking volunteers who reside in the greater Woonsocket area to join our committee. The committee is responsible for maintaining our Franco-American Heritage Center either by performing minor repair tasks or helping to screen contractors hired to perform renovation or repair projects.
